Without teaching God’s Word, true believers’ lives will not change.
Living Godly lives is a must to every Christian. No exception and there are warnings for all of us:
Hebrews 12:14—17, “Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son. Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. He could bring about no change of mind, though he sought the blessing with tears.” This context is not only talking about a single meal but a short time pleasure in exchanged to eternal HELL. If we miss up with God’s grace, even if we sought blessing with tears we could not bring change of mind like Esau. “Without holiness no one will see the Lord”.
Hebrews 10:26—30, If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. Anyone who rejected the Law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Hebrews 6:4—6, It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.
1 Thessalonians 4:3—8, It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, he who reject this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.
1 Thessalonians 4:11—12, Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.
1 Peter 1:15—16, But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “BE HOLY BECAUSE I AM HOLY.”
2 Peter 3:9—11, The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives.
Yes, Christianity is no magic. Without teaching God’s Word, true believer’s lives will not change. Matthew 28:18–20, Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples…..teaching them to obey EVERYTHING I have commanded you“.
God is not impress on beautiful buildings. God is not impress on large congregation. God is not impress on quantity. God is impress on quality of life. Hebrews 12:14—17, “WITHOUT HOLINESS NO ONE WILL SEE THE LORD.”
